As part of the ongoing drought interventions izimbizo conducted by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Deputy Minister General Bheki Cele will provide support to the Genadeshoop Communal Farm in Piketberg, Western Cape Province on 23 March 2016.
Genadeshoop farm is a communal farm managed by four members, they own livestock and have lost some of their livestock as a result of drought. On the day of the imbizo, the Deputy Minister will distribute fodder pellets to the farmers. Identified food insecure households in the community will also be given food parcels and assisted with starting food gardens.
