The Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Bheki Cele accompanied by the MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs, Mr Vusi Shongwe will visit Mkhondo as part of the Government Imbizo Focus Week, which is an unmediated information-sharing platform and dialogue between government and people.
The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) will be hosting the Imbizo Focus Week under the theme: “Speaking to the people about issues that concern them.’’ This Imbizo will provide the department an opportunity to make a follow-up on the challenges raised by the farming community during the previous engagement with the Deputy Minister in Saul Mkhize Village last year. The dialogue between government and people aims to find ways to eradicate poverty and hunger, ensuring food and nutrition security through agricultural entrepreneurships, small, macro and medium enterprises, youth cooperatives and smallholder farmers.
