Water and Sanitation cleans Klip River as part of National Clear Rivers Campaign, 28 Jul

Department of Water and Sanitation takes cleanup campaign to Klip River

Members of the media are invited to the Department of Water and Sanitation’s cleaning of the Klip River in Potjiesberg Park, Eldorado Park Ext 4 as part of its annual National Clear Rivers Campaign.

The campaign has been designated to take place in July to coincide with the Mandela Month during which members of the public are encouraged to volunteer 67 minutes to contribute to public good.

Working with different stakeholders, the department will be cleaning the Klip River to create environmentally conscious communities and promoting the protection of water resources, rivers, streams, wetlands and other water ecosystems.

The Klip River has seen a rise in pollution, resulting in communities residing around it experiencing unbearable stench.
