Department of Labour launches a cash injection subsidy scheme for persons with disabilities

The Department of Labour Public Employment Services (PES) branch is inviting the media to the official launch of a subsidy scheme for workshops/organisations for persons with disabilities.

The launch is part of a drive to acknowledge that organisations of and for Persons with Disabilities have the necessary skills, expertise, infrastructure and other resources to contribute to the reconstruction, development and the provision of employment services.

It will take place on 13 December 2018.

The Employment Services (ES) Act of 2014 promulgated on 09 August 2015 provides for provision of Subsidy Schemes for Person with Disabilities.

The Department of Labour is finalising the service level agreements with each of the 10 organisations to whom the subsidies will be provided.

Department of Labour PES Deputy Director-General, Sam Morotoba will deliver the opening address at the launch. The launch will also be addressed by Employment Services Board member Dennis George; and representative Chief Executives of participating workshops. 

The official launch of the Department of Labour Subsidy Scheme for organisations for persons with disabilities will take place as follows:

Venue: Dreamhouse Workshop, 325 Derdepoort Road, Silverton in Pretoria.
