Deputy Minister Enver Surty visits Sophakama Primary School as part of Imbizo Focus Week, 6 Apr

Department of Basic Education takes National Imbizo Focus Week to Dunoon, Western Cape

The Deputy Minister of Basic Education Mr Enver Surty will visit Sophakama Primary School in, Dunoon Cape Town on Wednesday 6 April 2016 as part of National Imbizo Focus Week.

The National Imbizo Focus Week is scheduled to take place from 4 to 10 April 2016 and will see the Department of Basic Education (DBE) interacting with parents and school communities across the country, under the theme: “Together we move South Africa forward: Grow South Africa.” 

The visit by the Deputy Minister will also help foster better relations with the community of Dunoon as well as serve to monitor progress made by the school after the handover of R 40 Million Sophakama Primary School in June 2015.

The Deputy Minister will hand out 2 000 food parcels to learners at the school.
