The Department of Safety and Liaison has begun to triple its efforts, to accelerate the building of safer communities, through the implementation of the “Provincial Safety Strategy’.
In this regard, greater awareness will be increased on matters relating to community safety, such as substance abuse, school safety, community policing and functionality of the Criminal Justice System.
At the end of it all, the department will strengthen relationships and partnerships between the community and police; promote youth participation in crime prevention strategies; strengthen relations between the Criminal Justice System and its partners and many more.
Nevertheless, the pogramme will be graced by the presence of the MEC Weziwe Tikana of the Department of Safety and Liaison, leadership from the Sakhisizwe Local Municipality will also be present, as well as representatives from various departments and State Agencies.
All members of the media fraternity are hereby invited to be part of this massive programme, in order to get first-hand information from the MEC.
