Announcement of the transfer of funds for drought to the Western Cape Provincial Government
Following persistent drought conditions in the Western Cape, national government made a commitment to provide the much needed assistance to augment the resources already made available by the Western Cape Province.
The Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs facilitated funding allocation to water and agriculture sectors which are the most affected with regard to drought.
The Inter-Ministerial Task Team (IMTT) on Drought will brief the media on this allocation and other interventions.
