Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC visits Amabhuma in Buffal City Metro Municipality
Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC FD Xasa will lead a delegation of traditional leaders, Ward Councillors and government officials to a monitoring visit of the initiation schools in the Buffalo City Metro Municipal area. In the last winter season one (1) initiate lost his life from NU2 in Mdantsane. Chief Stanley Makinana of amaNdlambe Traditional Council will also join MEC Xasa during the visit.
The visit will take place today (04 December 2015) at 14h00 focussing in Mdantsane and Amalinda areas. The delegation will assemble and depart from Cecilia Makiwane Hospital.
“Our emphasis is to save lives through constant monitoring visits to the initiation schools to root out abuse and ill-treatment of our kids. We encourage parents and family members to take the lead in visiting their sons for their safe passage to manhood. That is the essence of the back to basics to serve our initiates better,” said MEC Xasa.
MEC Xasa will brief the media on the latest update since the start of the summer initiation season. Members of the media are kindly invited to be part of the MEC’s visits.
