On Monday, 22nd February 2016, the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) will hold its First Sitting of 2016, where Gauteng Premier will deliver the State of the Province Address.
Presided over by Honourable Speaker Ntombi Mekgwe, the official Opening of the Third Session of the Fifth Legislature, is a platform for Honourable Premier of Gauteng David Makhura to deliver the State of the Province Address. The Premier’s address will highlight the Gauteng Government’s programme of action and service delivery priorities for the year 2016 and beyond.
The 2016 opening of the Legislature will take place as follows:
Venue: Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex, Sebokeng in Sedibeng Region
Date: Monday, 22nd February 2016
Time: 9h00 (lifestyle programme) and 11h00 (SOPA Sitting)
The event will commence with a Morning Programme at 9h00 which includes red carpet interviews; arts entertainment; police parade; and the guard of honour among others. The House Sitting will commence at 11h00.
To obtain the required accreditation for the day’s proceedings, all members of the media must complete the screening template with their full details including: name and surname; ID number; and name of media company by Friday, 12th February 2016.
Please note the following:
Accreditation will be collected at the GPL precinct; Cnr. City Hall & President Streets, Johannesburg CBD) – from the 16th until 20th February 2016. ID books and Press Cards will be required on collection of accreditation.
There will be no accreditation on the day of the event.
