R14 million water reticulation project for Boskuil residents
Shortage of water in the Boskuil and Orsenskraal area near Wolmarandstad under Maquassie-Hills local municipality will become a thing of the past. This follows the official handing over of the 14 million water reticulation project by MEC for Department of Local Government and Human Settlements in Bokone Bophirima who was accompanied by Mayor of Maquassie-Hills Cllr. Noni Kgabi.
The project includes newly built seven boreholes and a reservoir which will distribute water to the five hundred households in both Boskuil and Orsenskraal to alleviate water shortage in the area.
Local resident Mr. Teko George Motsamai applauded government on the project. "This area has a long history of water shortage and now everybody can get water into their yard. We thank the current government for responding to its commitment of giving us water and sanitation in our area" said Motsamai.
MEC Gaolaolwe said the water is basic right and as government. “We are a water scarce province but we will continue to ensure that our people receive clean running water in their yards. Water is a basic right that can’t be denied our people. We are happy that we have changed the situation in Boskuil and Orsenskraal.” Remarked MEC Gaolaolwe.
