Premier Supra Mahumapelo visits Mothotlung School, 1 Jun

Bokone Bophirima schools celebrate gains of freedom through debates - Premier Mahumapelo joins Mothotlung Secondary School

The morning assemblies in schools across Bokone Bophirima Province will on Wednesday, 1 June 2016 take an unusual shape as learners will use these sessions to reflect on the fruits of democracy, by probing their understanding of freedom.

Central to this initiative is to allow learners the opportunity to reflect on the achievements and challenges associated with the transition to the democratic rule, while at the same time deliberating on their responsibility towards nurturing the country’s freedom.

Premier Supra Mahumapelo, MECs and Mayors will be amongst public representatives who will be deployed to almost all schools in the province, for participation in the discussions.

Schools have been identified as the appropriate platform for advancement of the gains of freedom, and learners from Primary up to Secondary schools will participate in this initiative. Premier Mahumapelo will be in Mothotlung Secondary School in Madibeng Local Municipality.

Members of the media are invited to join and cover the discussions.
