Bokone Bophirima hosts women in leadership summit to celebrate Africa Public Service Day

The Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government will celebrate this year’s Africa Public Service Day by hosting a summit titled “Provincial Female Senior Management and Women in Leadership”.

This summit, which will be held in the Lekwa-Teemane Local Municipality, will bring together female senior managers within the public service in the Province to deliberate on issues relating to women empowerment in-line with this year’s theme: “The role of public service in women empowerment, innovation and accessible service delivery”

Since 1994, Africa Public Service Day has been celebrated annually across Africa with a view to, among others:

  • Acknowledge and motivate public servants on their efforts to provide services to the public and continue with their selflessness by going beyond the call of duty.
  • Provide a platform for public servants to reflect on progress and successes, challenges and possible solutions in ensuring efficient and effective delivery of quality services to all.
  • Promote values such as professionalism and accountability, responsiveness, ethics and performance in the delivery of public services.
