20th anniversary celebration event of the Commission for Gender Equality

On the 27th January 2017, the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) will be hosting an event to celebrate the twentieth (20th) Anniversary of its existence, including the launch of its 20-year organisational review report, at the Radisson Blu hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The event will bring together key stakeholders from government, civil society and other Chapter 9 institutions. It will also include a high-level panel discussion on the CGE’s achievements and challenges since its establishment in 1996, as well as explore its prospects for the future.

The launch will be preceded by a media briefing with the outgoing Commission Chairperson, Mfanozelwe Shozi, whose term of office comes to an end on 31st January 2017. Mr Shozi will engage the media on the journey travelled from the beginning to the end of his 10 year tenure as Chairperson of the Commission.

The Commission hereby extends a formal invitation to the members of the media,  the CGE staff and Invited Stakeholders in celebrating its 20th Anniversary, and launch of its 20- year organisational review report.
