Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries hosts Female Entrepreneur Awards in Mbombela, 27 Aug

Award ceremony to honour top female entrepreneurs in Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries

As part of celebrating Women’s Month, the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) together with the Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs and Total South Africa, will honour women entrepreneurs in the sector through the prestigious DAFF Female Entrepreneur Awards Programme.

This programme continues to honour the efforts and contribution of women, young females and women with disabilities for the role they play in food security, poverty alleviation, job creation and economic growth in the sector.

The event honours the overall winner and the nine award winners in the following categories: Best Female Worker; Best Subsistence Producer; Top Entrepreneur: Smallholder; Top Entrepreneur: Processing; Top Entrepreneur: Commercial; Top Entrepreneur: Export Markets and two Ministerial Awards for Young and Disabled Female Entrepreneurs in the sector.

The awards, running in the 18th year, will be held under the theme “Proclaiming progress towards women’s empowerment.’’
