Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries commemorates World Food Day, 14 Oct

As part of the food security month activities, the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), together with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), will commemorate World Food Day on 14 October 2016 at Nkume Sports Field in uMlalazi Local Municipality in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal.

World Food Day is commemorated annually around the world on 16 October, in honour of the founding date of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. This year, World Food Day will be commemorated under the theme, “Climate is changing, food and agriculture must too”.

Programme of the day:

  • 7h30 to 8h30 - Project visits
  • 9h30 to 10h30 -  Household  visits
  • 11h00 to 11h20 - Symbolic walk against hunger
