Trade and Industry hosts 8th African Consumer Protection Dialogue, 10 to 12 Aug

The Department of Trade and Industry, (the dti) together with the National Consumer Tribunal, National Consumer Commission, National Credit Regulator, and the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications will host the eight African Consumer Protection Dialogue from 10 to 12 August 2016 in Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre, Boksburg starting at 8h30.

The dialogue will be held under the theme Advancing Consumer Protection in Africa: Building Capacity and Stakeholder cooperation.

The African Consumer Protection Dialogue (the “African Dialogue”) is a measure on behalf of African governments, non-governmental organisations, as well as the United States Federal Trade Commission (the “FTC”) to create informal opportunities to connect with one another and deliberate on pertinent subject matters for purposes.

Members of the media are invited to attend the opening session of the conference as well as a subsequent media briefing which will take place as follows:
