  • More than 4 600 – COVID-19 deaths that South Africa recorded in 2021, by 11 January 2021.
  • More than 1,2 million – a cumulative number of COVID-19 cases that South Africa has recorded since the start of the pandemic, by 11 January 2021.
  • More than 33 000 – deaths that South Africa has recorded since the start of the pandemic, by 11 January 2021.
  • More than 148 000 – people that have been admitted to hospital in South Africa since the start of the pandemic, by 11 January 2021.
  • Over 15 000 – people with COVID-19 in hospitals nationally, by 11 January 2021.
  • 50 people – the number of people permitted to attend funerals, with social distancing, hand sanitising and mask wearing.
  • 20 – land ports of entry to be closed until 15 February 2021 for general entry and departure.
