Gauteng Legislature hosts job shadowing programme female students, 18 Aug

50 students to participate in Gauteng Provincial Legislature job shadowing programme

As part of its 2016 Women’s Month schedule, the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) will host a job shadowing programme for 50 female students currently doing their final year in Institutions of Higher Learning. This will take place on Thursday, 18 August 2016,

This initiative, which will be conducted in partnership with Vodacom, is an opportunity for students to learn about the business of the GPL as well as various career paths that exist within the Legislative Sector. Students will be paired with GPL Senior Managers to enable them to ask questions and learn more about daily work in a legislature environment, as well as receive career related advice from them.

The programme will also assist the GPL to correct the perception that career opportunities available within the Legislative Sector are only political. Contrary to this perception, the Legislative Sector also offers career opportunities in areas such as Finance, Research, Human Resource, Communication, Information Technology, Legal, as well as other disciplines.

Details of the job shadowing programme are as follows:

Date: Thursday, 18 August 2016
Time: 9h00
Venue: Gauteng Provincial Legislature, Cnr Loveday & President Street Johannesburg CBD.
