Minister Aaron Motsoaledi observes Bara Burn Treatment Centre’s 25th anniversary, 3 Nov

The Minister of Health Dr Aaron Motsoaledi together with MEC for Health, Ms Qedani Mahlangu and Johnson & Johnson representatives will on Thursday, 03 November 2016 observe the 25th anniversary of Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital’s Burn Treatment Centre.

The centre was established in 1991 in a public-private partnership with Johnson & Johnson, the world’s largest and most diversified healthcare company as a treatment and teaching centre for medical professionals from across all parts of Africa. Johnson and Johnson provides support to the facility in form of equipment, consumable products, and educational support for management and medical personnel.

The Unit provides timely and specialised care to adult and pediatric burn patient which increases the survival rates among critically injured patients. On the day of the event Minister Motsoaledi, MEC Mahlangu and other dignitaries will conduct a site visit of the section while interacting with patients and medical personnel.
