Treasury invites media to apply for 2020 Budget speech media accreditation

2020 Media Budget lock-up accreditation

Please note that the Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni, will table the national Budget on 26 February 2020. As usual, media is given an opportunity to participate in Budget lock-ups. The lock-ups grant participants access to embargoed Budget documents prior to the Minister tabling them in parliament.

To participate in the 2020 Budget lock-ups, individuals must use the online accreditation system, which is open as of 22 January 2020 until 18 February 2020. Colleagues are advised to be mindful of the closing date for accreditation, as no late accreditation will be accepted.

To register follow one of the steps below:

1. New registrations

• Click on: https://web.treasury.gov.za/sites/LockUp
• Click on register for new users (this process is to create a username and password of your choice if you have not registered previously).
  • Complete the form and read the terms and conditions and agree to continue.
  • Please login using the username and password you just provided
    • You will now be on the 2nd part of access, please request access.
  • Your request will be processed within 24 hours and you will receive an email in this regard.
• Once you have received your confirmation email click on the link provided in the email
  • Complete your personal details, failure to complete this info will result in no entry on Budget day
    • You will be able to change this information if it does change (edit button to the left of the information)
  • Important documents and information will be provided on this page
• If you have not received your approval email in 24 hours please send an email to Jabulane.mulambo@treasury.gov.za with your registered username as reference.

2. Already have an account

• Click on: https://web.treasury.gov.za/sites/LockUp
• Please login using the username and password
  • If you have forgotten your password please click on the Forgot Password button and follow the instructions
  • You will now be on the 2nd part of access, please request access.
  • Your request will be processed within 24 hours and you will receive an email in this regard.
• Once you have received your confirmation email click on the link provided in the email
  • Complete your personal details, failure to complete this info will result in no entry on Budget day
    • You will be able to change this information if it does change (edit button to the left of the information)
  • Important documents and information will be provided on this page
• If you have not received your approval email in 24 hours please send an email to Jabulane.mulambo@treasury.gov.za with your registered username as reference.
