MEC Ishmael kgetjepe leads delegation to signing of 2016 NSC examination pledge, 14 Oct

The MEC for education, Ishmael kgetjepe leads delegation to the signing of 2016 National Senior Certificate Examination pledge.

The Council of Education Minister approved that the candidates registered to write the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination sign a pledge committing to comply with the Examination Code of Conduct applicable to all candidates. The rationale for the Pledge is to assist with the curbing and control of examination irregularities and is an attempt to adopt a more proactive rather than a reactive approach to the reduction of examination.

All schools will assist the grade 12 learners to sign the pledge on the 14th October 2016. It is anticipated that the signing will start at 10am in all the schools. The pledge demands learners to be honest, not cheating and avoid copying throughout the examination period.

Grade 10 and 11 learners are expected to sign the pledge on the 24th October 2016. All schools have been requested to make arrangements and to assure that all learners sign before they start with their examinations

The MEC for Education, Ishmael Kgetjepe will lead the delegation to assist learners to sign their pledges as follows:
