The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) Military Skills Competition

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has been invited via the Reserve Force Council (RFC) as a guest of the Confederation of Inter-Allied Reserve Force (CIOR) to participate in the annual military skills competition for Reserve, which is held in the European summer as hosted by The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) countries on rotational basis.

The SA Army will select a SANDF team during a Military Skills Competition that will be held:

Date:17 to 22 October 2011
Venue: Light Artillery Regiment in Potchefstroom.

The competition will consist of the following activities:

  • Rifle and pistol shooting.
  • Land obstacle crossing.
  • Water obstacle crossing.
  • Hand grenade throwing.
  • 8Km cross-country.

In view of the above you are cordially invited to send a journalist and/or a camera person /photographer to cover the event on Friday 21 October 2011 from 08h00 and the prize giving ceremony on Saturday 22 October 2011 at 12h00.
