SASSA to re-register grant beneficiaries The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is to re-register all beneficiaries of Government grants from April.This was announced in Parliament by the Minister of Social Development Bathabile Dlamini. Addressing the Social Protection and Community Development cluster briefing on Tuesday, the Minister said the re-registration forms part of the Government drive to detect and eliminate fraud within the social grant system. The Minister also announced that SASSA would introduce a more effective payment model to ensure that “the right social grant to the right person Njalo!” She also added in her briefing that people who earn between R3 501 and R15 000 will access a subsidy from Provinces of up to R83 000, enabling them to buy houses of up to R300000 from April 2012.
