Minister Angie Motshekga releases NSC Examination results

The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga announced the 2013 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination results on 6 January 2014.

This year's matric pass rate is 78,2% up from 73,9% in 2013. A total of 171 755 learners achieved Bachelor's passes.

President Jacob Zuma congratulated the class of 2013. He said the Class of 2013 represented a special category of learners in South Africa as the country celebrates 20 years of democracy and freedom in 2014.
