Minister Blade Nzimande launches Phase 1 of the Central Applications System

October 2012 - The Department
of Higher Education and Training has set up a Central Applications
System (CAS) aimed at reducing walk-in applications at universities.
The department will provide Phase 1 of
the CAS which is referred to as the Clearing House to matric learners
looking for admission in 2013.
The Clearing House
targets learners who were not successful during the 2012 application
period and for learners who will only start looking for admission in
2013.
The CAS is expected to be fully implemented in 2014.
