Child Protection Week, 27 May to 3 June
South Africa observes Child Protection Week from 27 May to 3 June. On
Sunday, 27 May, President Jacob Zuma launched the campaign to protect
children and promote their rights in Galeshewe, Kimberley. The theme for
the campaign is "Working Together to Protect Children".
This
year, government will use the campaign to raise awareness of the rights
of children as expressed in the Children's Act of 2005. The Act outlines
the principles relating to the care and protection of children.
Wear a green ribbon and help create a safe and nurturing environment for children.
