S Belot in motor vehicle accident

Free State MEC for Health, S Belot's condition after being
involved in a motor vehicle accident

The Free State MEC for Health, Mr Sakhiwo Belot, his driver and his
bodyguard were involved in a motor vehicle accident this morning between
Brandfort and Theunissen.

They were taken to Pelonomi Regional Hospital Trauma (Accident and
Emergency) Unit by ambulance. The MEC has sustained soft tissue injuries. He
was admitted to the Trauma Ward at Pelonomi for observation, and it is expected
that he will stay in hospital until Saturday.

Mr Belot is smiling, in good spirits, although being uncomfortable because
of the injuries.

The driver, Mr MJ Motlhobodi, was also admitted to Pelonomi Hospital and his
condition is stable. Further investigations are still being performed to
determine the extent of his injuries.

The bodyguard, Mr Roger Monagham has sustained a left knee injury and other
soft tissue injuries that he was treated for. He was discharged from Pelonomi
Hospital.

An update on the MEC's condition will be issued again on Friday, 3 November
2006 by 16h00.
