Labour Minister, Mildred Nelisiwe Oliphant will deliver the key note address at the annual labour law conference at Sandton Convention Centre on Thursday, 30 June.
The conference, organised by the Universities of Cape Town, Witwatersrand and KwaZulu-Natal, is the biggest of its kind in the country and will be attended by approximately 1 000 delegates.
With over 24 presentations by high profile speakers, the conference presents the ideal opportunity for delegates to keep abreast of latest trends and hot issues and to discuss some of the challenges facing the labour market.
Topics under debate this year include current labour market realities, essential services, the empowerment of women, affirmative action, sexual harassment law updates, culture and religion as well as challenges such as strike misconduct and incapacity due to ill health.
Minister Oliphant’s speech will focus on reconciling workplace interests.
