The Department of Social Development will on 27 and 28 October host National Golden Games at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo Province under the theme, "Older Persons Moving South Africa Forward,”. Golden Games are part of Active Ageing Programme which seeks to promote active participation among older persons through sports.
The golden games also seeks to amongst its objectives; promote intergenerational solidarity between the youth, adults and older persons through social integration. Senior citizens will on the day participate in various sport activities such as soccer, netball and athletics.
The Minister of Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini, will officially open the national golden games on Thursday.
