Socail Develpment Portfolio Committee consults the public on the Annual Report process
Led by Chairperson, Honourable Thuliswa Nkabinde, the Gauteng Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Social Development is embarking on a consultative process for the 2014/2015 Annual Report. This is part of efforts to ensure implementation of the Gauteng Legislature’s oversight and public participation mandates.
The Portfolio Committee will consider the Annual Report of the Gauteng Department of Social Development for the 2014/15 Financial Year. Departmental Annual Reports assist Committees to assess and pass a verdict on the departments’ performance. The public meeting will solicit the public’s feedback on services provided by the Department during the course of the year, which will further assist the Committee in generating a comprehensive analysis of the department’s performance against its sets priorities for the year.

The Portfolio Committee has invited the Gauteng Department of Social Development to present its 2014/2015 Annual Performance Monitoring Report before the public. This approach is part of GPL’s efforts of ‘Taking the Legislature to the people’, as it ensures that the people of Gauteng are consulted and given an opportunity to provide inputs and feedback on Provincial governance issues – with service delivery as the main focus. The Department’s presentation will focus on the Overview of Programme Performance; Annual Technical Analysis per Programme/Sub-programme; as well as the Financial Report.
