The Department of Defence (DOD) will host the DOD Gender Conference at Air Force Base Swartkop, Pretoria from Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 August 2015.
The Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula will officiate during the official opening of the conference. The theme for the conference is “Put action behind words and reflect the belief of embracing gender mainstreaming in the DOD.” Amongst other distinguished speakers who are expected will be Chief of the South African National Defence Force, General Solly Shoke.
The purpose of this conference is to demonstrate the practical commitment by the DOD to ensure gender mainstreaming.
