Leave management is one of the critical personnel practices of the Public Service. Accordingly, the Public Service Commission (PSC) will host a roundtable discussion on the implementation of the Policy on Incapacity Leave and lll-Health Retirement (PILIR) in the Public Service.
The roundtable aims to create a platform through which the panel of experts and departments could deliberate on the challenges experienced in implementing the PILIR in order to seek viable solutions to ensure proper implementation and compliance.
In addition, the roundtable intends to delve deeper into the challenges hampering the implementation of the PILIR as well as to look at how to deal with the challenges and suggest solutions to departments on how to pro-actively manage some of these challenges.
The roundtable panel discussions will include amongst others, representatives of all government departments, the Public Service Coordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC), General Public Service Sectoral Bargaining Council (GPSSBC), Health Risk Managers, Medical Practitioners (General and Specialist) that deals with the top five illnesses that are prevalent from assessment of the application for temporary, permanent incapacity leave and Ill-Health Retirement as well panelists in the field of human resources management and labour relations.
