T Mbeki to host Presidential Imbizo in KwaZulu-Natal, 6 to 7 Oct

President Thabo Mbeki to interact with the people of
KwaZulu-Natal

President Thabo Mbeki will embark on a two-day Imbizo in KwaZulu-Natal,
Uthukela District Municipality, on 6 to 7 October 2007.

The Presidential Imbizo is part of government's programme of direct
interaction with communities to deepen partnership with the people.

The government team includes national, provincial and local government
spheres as well as state-owned enterprises in order to ensure speedy response
to local challenges and learn from successful local experiences that can be
replicated in all spheres of government.

In this instance, the President's delegation will include Cabinet Ministers
and Deputies, the Premier of the KwaZulu-Natal province, Sibusiso Ndebele and
Members of the provincial Executive Council and local government
representatives.

Thus, the President is expected to interact with local stakeholders, visit
key projects and interact directly with the communities in the Uthukela
District Municipality which includes amongst others Ezakheni, Ladysmith and
Uitvaal in Mnambithi Local Municipality.
