The Department of Arts and Culture and the Mpumalanga Provincial Government
invite members of the media to the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the
Samora Machel tragedy.
On 19 October 1986, President Samora Machel of Mozambique and 34 of his
colleagues and comrades died in a plane crash near the Lebombo Mountains in
Mbuzini, Mpumalanga.
