Reply by Minister in the Presidency: Performance Monitoring and Evaluation as well as Administration C Chabane on questions posed in the National Assembly for written reply

MR MM Swathe (DA) to ask the Minister in the Presidency: Performance Monitoring and Evaluation as well as Administration in the Presidency:

Whether the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) has a budget to cover its operational costs; if not, why not; if so, how many has been budgeted?

Reply:

The National Youth Development Agency has a budget allocation of R325 million, which is supplemented by mainly collections from loan debtors. The NYDA budget incorporated the allocations to the National Youth Commission and Umsobomvu Youth Fund. The costs that are associated with the merger of the two institutions and the establishment of the National Youth Development Agency were clearly not budgeted for and thus supplementary funding for these unforeseen and unavoidable costs amounting to R41 549 000 would be requested from the National Treasury.
