Premier Cassel Mathale’s Easter message

The Easter Period has arrived and many people will be using the roads to visit various holiday destinations and some going on different pilgrimages for church services. Our provincial administration would like to congratulate the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) on its centenary commemoration. As the ZCC is celebrating 100 years of existence, we are very proud of the continuous valuable contributions made by the Church in building a non-racial, non-sexist, democratic and prosperous nation. We are wishing the ZCC many more years rich with faith. The same message is due to all other church denominations, which will be having celebrations.

We are making a humble appeal to all road users, drivers, passengers and pedestrians to be patient and tolerant towards each other on the road. It is against the law to drink and drive. We must always drive within the given speed-limits. We should bear in mind that speed kills and it even kills innocent people. Motorists must not drink and drive for the safety of all road users. It is important for people who will be embarking on long distances to have regular intervals for refreshment.

It is a fact that the vehicles that are not roadworthy account for many fatalities on our roads. Drivers must ensure that their respective vehicles are roadworthy by making vehicle inspections before every long journey.

We are losing many lives on our roads during this time of the year. It is our own responsibility to ensure that this does not continue.

We are wishing every person who will be visiting Limpopo and all the people of our province a fruitful and joyous Easter holidays.

We must love life! Lets’ arrive alive!
