Social Development to host Older Persons Month

The Department of Social Development will host many activities throughout
the country in October to mark Social Development Month.

The 2006 Social Development Month theme is Older Persons, and activities
will be promoting services that protect the rights of older persons and their
general well-being. The Department will use the campaign to further its mission
of building a caring society with the support of stakeholders. The campaign
will also be used as a platform to promote the building of a value system for
social cohesion in a caring society.
