The South African Revenue Service (SARS) can announce that Mr Barry Hore has
been appointed as General Manager responsible for Strategy, Modernisation and
Technology with effect from 1 July 2006.
Mr Hore joins SARS from Nedbank.
Mr Horeâs responsibilities will include finding innovative ways to position
SARS as a modern revenue and customs administration that can respond positively
to changing economic conditions and is able to meet the requirements of
Governmentâs developmental agenda. His brief will include oversight and
management of new business modernisation initiatives that will enhance SARS
systems and operations.
In the meantime Mr Hore has been seconded by Nedbank to work at SARS.
Nedbank views this undertaking as part of its broader commitment to contribute
to the development of the country.
