(ABET) Graduation on 21 February 2006 - Hard Work Pays Dividends for the SAPS

Hard work and dedication will be rewarded for over 1 350 police personnel
who will be receiving certificates of completion at the South African Police
Service College, Pretoria West on Tuesday, 21 February 2006, starting at
10h00.
The occasion will be marking the successful completion of the ABET course
offered to police personnel attached to Head Office and Gauteng Province.
It will be recalled that this ABET course, funded by the European Union (EU)
and offered by Secudac (Pty) Ltd has enabled three thousand four hundred and
nineteen (3 419) members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) to obtain a
qualification which they couldn't through formal schooling. These personnel
have now acquired skills which will enable them to study through tertiary
institutions.
Graduation ceremonies will be held country-wide to mark the successful
completion of the course. Mpumalanga held its ceremony on 13 February 2006,
North West on 20 February and others will be held shortly.
Media is hereby invited, and interviews and photo-sessions will be granted
on request.
