The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Post Office, Mr Khutso I Mampeule,
today announced in Pretoria the following executive appointments in the
Group:
New Head for Human Resources
Ms ME (Liz) Thebe has been appointed Group Executive: Human Resources. She
will take up her new position on 1 April 2006.
Ms Thebe holds amongst other qualifications a BA (Hons) in Social Work
(Unisa), a BA (Hons) in Psychology (Vista), a Masters in Social Science (RAU)
and a Masters in Business Engineering (University of Warwick in the UK). She
also successfully completed several development programmes in Human Resources,
Leadership and Top Management at local and international institutions.
Ms Thebe started her human resources career when she joined Eskom as an
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Practitioner, Consultant and Manager in
1998. She has since been promoted several times to other human resources
positions in the Eskom Group and is currently holding the position of Human
Resources Manager for the Generation Division.
She gained extensive experience in human resources and related fields before
and after joining Eskom. She has been involved at a national and international
level with initiatives dealing with HIV/AIDS. Ms Thebe has written a number of
professional publications dealing with people issues such as HIV/AIDS, managing
trauma in the workplace and the role of women during transformation.
She is a member of several professional institutions, including the South
African Board for Personnel Practice (SABPP) and is the current President of
the Employee Assistance Programme Association.
Ms Thebe joins the Post Office at an important stage of its transformation
when it is amidst the deployment of the Groupâs revised new strategy. She will
be responsible for leading the Groupâs human resources function, including the
development of and maintenance of a high performance organisational culture,
staffed by competent people, in order to support the achievement of the Groupâs
strategic objectives.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr Mampeule stated âwe are delighted that

New Head for South African Post Office (Sapo) Properties
Mr DC (Daniel) Nyamazane who currently holds the position of General
Manager: Properties has been appointed Managing Director, Sapos Properties with
effect from 1 February 2006.
Mr Nyazama gained extensive experience in the Properties field while working
for a number of organisations before joining the Group as Senior Manager:
Properties on 4 June 2001. He was promoted to General Manager: Properties on 1
June 2003.
