The South African Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Sue van der Merwe,
will on Thursday, 16 March 2006, hold bilateral political and economic
discussions with her Romanian counterpart, Mr Teodor Baconschi, who is on an
official visit to South Africa from 15 to 17 March 2006, in Pretoria.
Deputy Minister Sue van der Merwe's meeting with the Romanian Deputy Foreign
Affairs Minister, Teodor Baconschi comes within the context of strengthening
bilateral relations between the two countries and consolidating partnerships
with the developed north in an effort to advance Accelerated and Shared Growth
Initiative for South Africa (AsgiSA) and the African agenda.
Media is invited to a photo opportunity at the commencement of the meeting
and a media briefing immediately thereafter.
