KwaZulu-Natal Premier to bid farewell to the late Sipho Mlaba
and hand over R30 000 to KwaMashu Christian Centre

The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, honourable Sibusiso Ndebele, will on Saturday,
29 July, bid farewell to one of the icons of KwaZulu-Natal's peace heroes, Dr
Sipho Mlaba, who passed away last Sunday. Dr Mlaba's funeral service will be
held in Mpumalanga a place where during the height of the political violence in
the 80s, Dr Mlaba together with KwaZulu-Natal legislature member, Dr Meshack
Habebe, brought calm to this area and later won international accolades.

Premier Ndebele will pay homage to this peace hero at his funeral
tomorrow.

The media are welcome to attend. The funeral starts at 10h00 at Mpumalanga
Stadium.

The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, honourable Sibusiso Ndebele, will on Sunday,
30 July, hand over a cheque of R30 000 to the KwaMashu Christian Centre's
Emseni Community Project. The project is an initiative by the KwaMashu
Christian Centre aimed at assisting hundreds of orphaned children in the
township. The church collect various donations such as money, food, clothes and
blankest to distribute to the needy.

The Premier Ndebele's donation is a response to the appeal by the faith and
community-based organisations (CBOs) to the people of KwaZulu-Natal to open
their hearts and donate to noble projects/initiatives intended to assist the
most vulnerable in our society.

The ceremony will take place KwaMashu Christian Centre (Old Cinema) in P
section at 9h00.
