S Ndebele on death of senior government official C Mncwango

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sibusiso Ndebele on the passing away of
Conrad Mbongeni Mncwango - General Manager, KwaZulu-Natal Office of the
Premier

The death yesterday (23 July 2007) evening of Conrad Mbongeni Mncwango (47
years of age) - General Manager (Chief Director): Supply Chain Management,
KwaZulu-Natal Office of the Premier, fills our hearts with sadness.

Mncwango was born on 13 March 1960 and passed away on 23 July 2007 after a
short illness. A senior member of the management team in the KwaZulu-Natal
Office of the Premier, he served the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government with
distinction. His proficiency and efficiency in the management of the Supply
Chain Management Chief Directorate will be a lasting memory to the entire
provincial government.

Mncwango holds a Masters of Science Engineering in Business Administration
degree obtained from the University of Warwick in 2001. Mncwango completed his
Bachelor of Administration degree at the University of South Africa (Unisa) in
1992 and obtained his Bachelor of Administration Honours degree (Public
Administration) from Unisa in 1996.

He was also a member of the Motor Transport Advisory Committee, Bid Award
Committee, Bid Evaluation Committee, Health Officers Association of Southern
Africa (Hoasa), National Environmental Health Forum, Ambulance Interim
Management Team as well as former Secretary of Makhathini Liaison Committee and
Ubombo/Ingwavuma Regional Development and Planning Working Group.

On behalf of the KwaZulu-Natal Office of the Premier, the government and
people of KwaZulu-Natal, we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences and
prayers to Mncwango's family and his many friends and colleagues. We say
together with you, we also feel the pain of Mncwango's passing away. May your
hearts heal soon and may you be strong during this difficult period.
