The Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Ms Rejoice
Mabudafhasi, will together with the Soweto Accommodation Association celebrate
national Tourism Month at the Ubuntu Kraal, Orlando West, Soweto, on Tuesday,
12 September 2006.
During the launch of Tourism Month in Mpumalanga, the Deputy Minister was
vocal about the critical role played by women in the tourism industry. "Let us
do everything possible to support women's active participation in all facets of
the tourism industry, for without them there can be no tourism growth," said
Mabudafhasi.
This celebration forms part of a series of activities organised countrywide
to highlight Tourism Month. The event also intends to emphasise the invaluable
contribution of Soweto Women towards the growth and sustainability of Tourism
in Soweto.
