President Jacob Zuma meets with Soweto pupils attending G20 Youth Programme

President Jacob Zuma has today, 13 November 2014, ahead of the G20 Leaders' Summit met with two South African learners from Moletsane High School who are in Brisbane, Australia to attend the G20 Youth Programme. The two learners were selected by the Australian government through a school essay competition on the importance of the G20 for both South Africa and Australia.

The President met with Ms Ofentse  Mahasha and Hlengiwe Moletsane, both from Moletsane High School in Soweto, Gauteng Province, who were accompanied by their teacher Mr Elliot Mashinini.

The G20 Youth Programme is taking place from the 11-17 November. In the G20 Youth Programme, the pupils will partake in youth forum discussions; have meetings with G20 senior officials and engage with group representatives. They will also tour the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre where the G20 Leaders' Summit is taking place.

The two learners expressed appreciation for getting an opportunity to meet the  President, and they assured him they would work even harder to get a good education and participate actively in the economy of South Africa.

The President commended the inspirational youngsters for taking an interest in issues that affect South Africa and the world at large.
