Sixth opening session of the Pan African Parliament (PAP)

Accreditation for sixth opening session of the Pan African Parliament.
Members of the media are advised of the sixth session of the Pan African
Parliament due to take place at Gallagher Estates in Midrand, Gauteng from the
Monday, 13 November to Friday, 24 November 2006.

Media accreditation will resume from Monday, 6 November 2006. Media is
therefore urged to start applying for accreditation. Applicants are requested
to submit their names, ID/passport numbers and media houses they represent to
the email below by Friday, 3 November 2006, for inclusion in the accreditation
process.

Former South African President Nelson Mandela is expected to launch the
Trust Fund of the Pan African Parliament on Monday, 13 November 2006, during
the opening day of sixth ordinary session.

Amongst the issues to be dealt with during the two-week session is the
presentation and debate on the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Country
Reports, presentation and debate on Peace and Security in Africa, Elections
Observation Missions undertaken during the 2005/06, as well as debate on
Financial and Monetary affairs of the institution.

Note, however, that media without accreditation will not be allowed access
to the Parliamentary precinct, chambers, media centre and briefing rooms.
