Deputy Minister Aziz Pahad to hold discussions with Iranian
acting Foreign Minister, Mehdi Mostafavi

Tshwane – South African Deputy Foreign Minister Aziz Pahad will hold
discussions with Iranian Acting Foreign Minister Mehdi Mostafavi on Wednesday,
18 January 2006, at the Union Buildings in Tshwane to discuss political and
economic relations as well as the issue of Iran’s nuclear programme within the
context of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Issues on the agenda of discussions between Deputy Minister Pahad and Acting
Foreign Minister Mehdi Mostafavi will also include, among others:

* Bilateral political and economic relations between both countries;
* Political developments within Africa and the Middle East; and
* Other multilateral issues of mutual interest to both countries.

Acting Foreign Minister Mostafavi will also hold discussions with South
Africa’s acting Foreign Minister, Jeff Radebe.
