Pretoria: South African Foreign Affairs, Director-General Dr Ayanda Ntsaluba
will on Tuesday, 22 may 2007 lead a senior South African government officials'
delegation including officials from the Home Affairs and Defence departments on
a visit to Angola.
Director-General Ntsaluba's visit comes within the context of South Africa's
commitment to consolidating and strengthening bilateral political and economic
relations with Angola within the broad framework of advancing the consolidation
of the African Agenda.
In this regard, Director-General Ntsaluba's visit is being undertaken with a
view to making preparations for the meeting of the South Africa-Angola
Ministerial Joint Commission of Co-operation and to address issues related to
outstanding bilateral agreements between the two countries.
South Africa and Angola have had a long standing strategic relationship
fashioned during the struggle against apartheid and formalised into
state-to-state relations with the advent of peace, democracy and justice in
South Africa.
Director-General Ntsaluba and his delegation are expected to return to South
Africa on Friday, 25 May 2007.
