The MEC for Culture, Sport and Recreation, Ms Nomsa Mtsweni will launch the
Provincial Womenâs Month Programme at a cocktail concert this Friday, 28 July
2006, to be held at Ingwenyama Lodge, White River.
This launch comes at a time when South African women will be marking the
50th anniversary of the historic womenâs march to the Union Building. The
protest march was against the apartheid laws of extending the carrying of
passes to women.
As part of the information dissemination, the launch will also set the scene
for the symbolic march to Union Buildings on 9 August 2006 when Mpumalanga
women will be joining other women from the rest of the country to celebrate
their achievements.
