Abrahams-Ntantiso condemns the assault on Lusanda Mcinga, Eastern Cape Gospel
artist
10 September 2007
The MEC for Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture expressed her dismay at the
assault to Lusanda Mcinga, one of the leading gospel artists in the province.
Lusanda, who started her career performing at small functions, funerals and
ordinary community functions, is one of the artists who performed in then South
Eastern Region Gospel Festivals.
"It is very disgusting to have people in our communities who are prepared to
assault artists to steal what is rightfully theirs. Any form of violence to
artists and theft of their music through piracy is strongly condemned. Lusanda
and any other artist that has spent time composing and recording music deserve
to be respected by our communities. I wish Lusanda a speedy recovery and
courage to continue the anti-piracy campaign."
